EPSON L5190: Cleaning the Print Head Using the Product Control Panel.

You can clean the print head nozzles using the control panel on your product.

Step 1.Make sure there are no errors on the LCD screen and the output tray is extended.

Step 2. Load a few sheets of plain paper in the product.

Step 3. Press the https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd5/cpd56096/source/images/icons/home_arrow_back_icons/home_icon_wfc869r.jpg home button, if necessary.

Step 4. Select Maintenance and press the OK button.

Step 5. Select Head Cleaning and press the OK button.

Step 6. Press the https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd5/cpd56096/source/images/icons/copy_scan_start_stop_icons/start_black_icon.jpg start button to clean the print head.

Caution:

Never open the inner cover or turn off the product during a cleaning cycle or you may damage it.

You see a message on the LCD screen and the https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd5/cpd56096/source/images/icons/power_preset_reset_search_icons/power_icon.jpg power light flashes throughout the cleaning cycle. When the cleaning cycle is finished, the https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd5/cpd56096/source/images/icons/power_preset_reset_search_icons/power_icon.jpg power light stays on and you see a message on the LCD screen.

Step 7. Select Nozzle Check, press the OK button, and press the https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd5/cpd56096/source/images/icons/copy_scan_start_stop_icons/start_black_icon.jpg start button to run a nozzle check and confirm that the print head is clean.

If you don’t see any improvement after cleaning the print head up to 3 times, turn off the product and wait at least 12 hours. Then run a nozzle check and try cleaning the print head again. If quality still does not improve, run a Power Cleaning. If there is still no improvement, contact Epson support.
