How to change the password of your Windows Domain account password.

This guide will walk you through to the process on how to change your Windows domain account password.


1. Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE on your keyboard simultaneously and the screen will change into the screen similar to the one below. 



2. Press Change a password and another new screen will show up. Don't change or input anything on the first field, it's automatically filled by Windows.


In the Old password field enter your current password.

In the New password field enter your new desired password.

In the Confirm password field enter your new password again.


After you filled all 3 fields press Enter on your keyboard.


Note: That we have password requirements that you need to follow otherwise your password will be rejected. 


Password requirements: 

  • Password must contain uppercase letter (A-Z)
  • Password must contain lowercase letter (a-z)
  • Password must contain numbers e.g. 1234567890
  • Password must contain special character e.g. ~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/
  • Password must be 8 characters or more.
  • Password must not contain your account username or display name.



3.  If you filled all the necessary fields correctly and the domain accepted your new password you should see a screen telling you that your password has been changed. Press OK and press Sign in button to sign in with your new password.

PASSWORD DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS


If you see a screen with a similar message to the one below. It means that the domain rejected your new password and you should make sure that your new password meets all the requirement of the domain. Please refer to the step 2 for the domain password requirements.



PASSWORD DID NOT MATCH


If you see a message similar to the one below it means that you entered a wrong password in the Old password field or the passwords that you entered in the New password field and Confirm password field did not match. Please make sure that the password that you entered in both fields match.
