                                        Protected View On Excel


1.Click the File
 



2. Select Option
 

 







 

3.Select Trust Center > Trust Center Settings
 

 

 
















 
4.Go to the Protected View option.

Now, uncheck the following three options from the Protected View section.

 

 
Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet

Disabling this option allows Excel to open files downloaded from the internet.

Enable Protected View for files that are located in potentially unsafe locations

Unchecking this option allows Excel to open files saved in any location.

Enable Protected View for Outlook attachments
 






 



6.Then Click Okay


 
Now the Protected View mode will be disabled. So, you can access the file having the error.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Solution 2 If the previous method doesn’t solve the problem, you can change the File Block Settings.

 
1.Go to File first.

 

2.Then Select Option

3.Now go to Trust Center > Trust Center Settings.


 

The Trust Center Will Appear.

 

4.Go to File Block.


 5.After that uncheck the following options.

Excel 4 Workbooks

  Excel 4 Worksheets

Excel 3 Worksheets

Excel 2 Worksheets

Excel 4 Macrosheets and Add-in Files

6.Then click okay



 
Now, try opening the Excel file saved in Protected View. Hope you can open the file without facing the error anymore.
