Microsoft 365 Account Authenticator: Microsoft Authenticator Phone App

ON THE COMPUTER:

STEP 1:

Go to “login.microsoftonline.com” on the browser to visit the login page of the outlook. After showing the login page, input the E-mail address then click NEXT, then input also the Password of the outlook account.

STEP 2:

After clicking the Sign in button, this message will show up. Click the NEXT button to proceed to the Microsoft Authenticator page.

STEP 3:

On this window, we will set up the Microsoft Authenticator activation of the outlook account. Click the NEXT button to begin the activation process.

STEP 4:

Click the NEXT button.

STEP 5:

Scan the QR Code generated on your login screen using the Microsoft Authenticator app on your MOBILE PHONE. 

(NOTE: Please proceed first on the Step 1 of "ON THE MOBILE PHONE" instructions below before clicking on NEXT button to login your outlook account.)

ON THE MOBILE PHONE:

STEP 1:

Download and Install the MICROSOFT AUTHENTICATOR on the Play Store if you are using Android Phone and on the Apple App Store if you are using iPhone. After downloading, tap the OPEN button to launch the application.

STEP 2:

After opening the application, when this window shows up, tap the WHILE USING THE APP button to enable the application to use the camera.

STEP 3:

Tap the ACCEPT button.

STEP 4:

Tap the CONTINUE button.

STEP 5:

Tap the SCAN A QR CODE button to scan the QR code on the outlook login.

STEP 6:

After scanning the QR Code, the Authenticator will now ask if you are trying to sign in. Enter the number that is showing on the login screen to verify the login.

NOTE:

Incase this error occurs when trying to click the NEXT button, contact IT Department to reset the authentication process of your outlook account.
